Vocal Cord
Dysfunction

At Texas Lung and Sleep, we understand how important it is for children to have healthy and functioning vocal cords. That’s why we specialize in diagnosing and treating pediatric vocal cord dysfunction (VCD).
TXLS_Service Inside
Vocal cord dysfunction is a condition in which the vocal cords do not work properly, leading to difficulty breathing, coughing, and wheezing.

Children with VCD may experience shortness of breath, especially during physical activity, and may have trouble speaking or making sounds. Our team has the experience and knowledge to diagnose and treat VCD in children.

We use a combination of medical & behavioral treatments, such as speech therapy & breathing exercises, to help your child manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.

In some cases, after diagnosing this condition, we may refer out to specialty centers such as voice clinics.

Don’t let VCD hold your child back from reaching their full potential.
